Re: Coolant being used up on 156 JTS?
I had a tiny pinprick hole in the rad of my 1999 156 1.8TS. It was strange, as it only dribbled when the engine was cold. If I took the car on mainly long runs, it used no water over many week and many thousands of miles, but a week of cold starts and school runs caused a noticeable drop in coolant level.
My local Alfa specialist realised that it was the radiator as there was a trail of dried anti-freeze running across the upper surface of the engine under-tray.
I used a bottle of rad-weld that sealed the drip completely and I had no trouble after that.
Touch-wood, my 2002 JTS hasn't used any fluid since I bought it used, six months ago, but I can see that the big black metal tube-thing, that carries coolant fluid across the front of the engine has been replaced for some reason, so perhaps this is an area you should look for a small leak on your JTS...
