Hi i've asked a few times before but i've tried everything advised and still no luck, a bit of background, I bought the car with an immo fault car would turn over but wouldn't fire up I was hoping it would be a simple fix but it wasn't I tried bridging connections, leaving battery off and so on.
Charged battery and put it on a load tester and it reads good, i've tested immo antenna and it returns 4-5 OHM's i've tested wires from immo antenna to body computer and these have no breaks also tested wires from ecu to body computer and again no breaks, tested all the earths I can find rubbed them all down and done the pull test just to make sure everything is tight, i've tested all relays swapped them round and made sure all wiring in relay box in front of battery is tight and has good connections. Also looked over every fuse in front fuse box and in fuse box under steering wheel.
I've connected a jump lead from ecu to car body to provide (confirmed earth) and repeated for all other earthing points.
I've tried replacing body computer, ECU and key transponders (all from same car and working) twice just to make sure.
FiatECU is returning a fault code, fault with immo no other fault codes present
I've had my codes from Alfa but it appears ECU has been changed in past as the code on record does not work.
Right for the questions which I hope people can help with, the large maxi fuses over the main positive connector on the battery I have not tested but i'm guessing these run multiple systems from each fuse so if any were gone then I would notice other things not working ? (Everything else works) and Elearn does not note any of these linking to the immo system.
Will an indy be able to do anymore than I have or am I limited to a stealer most people seem to say anything to do with immo system bar swapping it out is only doable by a main dealer.
I've also been in contact with Smaky and he's coming to have a play in next week or so but if i've got him coming all this way and it turns out to be me missing somat simple i'm gonna feel a tool and again if its a dealer only item he's not gonna have much luck.
Worst case scenario how much am I looking at for my keys and ECU to be re paired with immo settings at dealer or am I going to be looking at a new key with them reading codes off my ECU, i'm not to sure what they would do and would like a rough idea what i'm asking for and how much before I walk in.
