Re: Front drop links and suspension (again!)
upper bones are ok to do, you will need spring compressors to make it easier - there is a thread on here recently - might of been called poly bushes?
lower bones are a ***** - the knocking could be the lower ball joint on that - all you can do is slpit the ball joint, and chek to make sure the joint is firm - does not move around really easily
but if you AR bar move back and forth really easily, is prob shot AR bar bushes. But to replace ot you need to drop the subframe - which is possible at home but sure wont be easy.
try drop links first as this is cheap and easy
i got my drop links (£9.05 in vat) and upper bones (27.60 inc vat - genuine parts too!) from shop4parts.co.uk and lower bones from EB (£82 for one delivered inc vat) (both respectively the cheapest, both excellent service)
