Koni FSD problem/regas?
50,000 miles ago I fitted Koni FSD dampers and Eibach Sport (I think) springs to my car, a 156 16V JTD Sport.
Several million speed bumps and bad road surfaces later, I find that the handling is sloppy and choppy and that going round long sweeping bends with undulations at speed, the right hand front corner seems pretty 'bouncy'. It seems to me that the damper(s) aren't doing their stuff. I think it took a particular turn for the worse when a few weeks ago I went over an unsignposted speed bump in the dark at 30mph causing the front suspension to pretty well bottom out/fully deflect instantly.
I have had all the front upper and lower wishbones replaced (they needed doing anyway) but still not feeling right. There is no visual evidence of leakage from or damage to the dampers but I'm pretty sure something's not right.
Are they shot? Can they be 'regassed' or tweaked in any way? I'm pretty sure they're not adjustable dampers as such, they just do what they do out of the box.
By the way, the car sits at the correct height at all 4 corners so I think the springs are OK.
Any thoughts, all you techies out there?
