Stereo problem..... Any ideas!
I have bought a 52 plate 156 jts and have a stereo problem. It has the bose sound system. The head unit works fine but no sound!!
My first guess was the amp in the head unit, as it seemed more likely that, than every speaker blowing! So I got a new one. No joy.
Checked the boot amp (although looking at the wiring I'm guessing this is for the subwoofer as the speaker wires go direct into the head unit), tried another anyway. No joy.
Checked the car actually had the speakers and they were connected (you never know, someone might have had them out before selling!) All there. All connected.
So what now? Any ideas?
Autolusso had a look and couldn't find the problem. One of the guys there said that if one speaker is shorting it'll feedback and stop the others working? This seems a tad strange to me as all the speakers are wired into the head unit separately aren't they? I'm no auto electrician but my logical deduction says the feedback issue could only occur if they were in series?
My only other guess is a wire break somewhere, but as they are are wired in separately this wouldn't knock all the speakers out, would it??
