Lots of "whooshing" noises when on the turbo. Assumed it was an intercooler/turbo hose and was right.
Popped, or was it "whooshed", over to SimplyAlfas this morning to get a confirmation. Lower pipe has a nice big hole in it. Right where it meets the earthing cable, stupid location.
John called Alfa, £80+VAT for the pipe, then half an hours fitting.
So thats £715 in a week. A lot to keep the car running. Good job I still think it is the dogs, otherwise it would be gone and I would be back in a 159 in a hurry!
At 88K miles the only grief the 159 gave me was a split air con pipe and a broken upper wishbone.
So far the lovely GT has needed door straps, rear pads and discs, 2x upper wishbones, cam belt and water pump (to be safe as the car is on 66K now) and not the pipe. I've only had it 4 months, done 6K miles in that time.
Good job it looks so fine!
