I flipping give up with all this stuff
I spent a whole 3 hours last night sat in my car trying to connect with various programs.
Ok so I changed the steering wheel on my 156 to a Ti one. Still got to get the different clockspring but put the old one back in so the horn and and airbag worked. Horn works but the airbag light is on. Now I should just assume its the clock spring but I've had a dicky connector under my seat for months that I fiddle with to get the light to go out. Usually happens just after I clean the car which is what I did prior to doing the wheel. Tried that no joy but I need to rule it out and make sure its the clockspring. So on to the main problem.
Car: alfa 156 2003 facelift 1.9 jtd mjet 16v (140bhp)
Alfadiag 3.3 connects to ecu EDC15C7 ecu which mine has I assume as it always connects to this. Clears 1 random fault ok.
Can't connect to airbag ecu. I believe I have my99 but tried both my97 and 99 several times as I know ad can be a bit tempramental and kick you out. no joy.
Ok over to unidiag. No joy. can't even get it to connect. fiddle about for ages but doesn't even seem to cover facelift 156's form 03 onward. Airbag seems to suggest my99 from the options but still no joy.
Over to fiatecuscan. Followed instructions on here from sears's posts. Opens comms but get an error so won't communicate.
ok I'll transfer my licence and get AD 3.4. Done. but now that won't connect either. It keeps telling me I need to configure it but when I run through the menus and then test on my ecu it just bats it back with a connection error again so I can't finish the configuration so I can't set up 3.4. So what have i done wrong???
NB. I have the modified kkl cable bought from rarebear so its not a cable issue and it is connected to com port 3
