156 2.0 TS

Non Start, Clutch, Handbrake Prob's = oh no

Hi fello Alfa owners!

I've had my 156 2.0 TS (1998) for over 1 year now and had many fond experiences with her - some good - MOSTLY bad though...

I've had the usual problems go wrong with her, and with the help / past experiences of you guys managed to fix it i.e. wishbones, MAF, irratic idle, etc, etc - the list goes on! i now have what seems like fatally critical "life threatening" problems go wrong with her - was wondering if any of you had anymore help / walktroughs so that i may fix - as opposed to scrap her??

1) She doesn't start - i turn the key to try turn her over (dashboard lights illuminate - but no ignition or turn over = does the battery simply need charging?

2) The clutch pedal went down some time ago and doesn't come back up? i hear this could mean slave or master cylinder? - if so does any of you know a walk through guide of how to fix?

3) Handbrake cable has snapped - can any of you please give heads up on how to fix / replace?

I appreciate any of you who take time to read this - and anyone who might know help / hints/ tips/ proceedures into fixing my alfa. she has gotten me through some tough times and would hate to have to scrap her...

handbrake cables are pretty easy to change 18 ish per side.
wind of the nut under the handbrake lever to make it easier, they are handed so make sure u get the correct one, infact may be as well doing them both as other will surely follow

your battery may need charging hard to say when u couple a charger up to it u should be able to see as they normaly have a indicator to show charge level........if only a series of leds llike on mine
