Re: 147 replacement...
My advice: Keep your Alfa, buy a bike.
If you love the inate Italian-ness of Alfa, then get an Italian bike. I bought my Ducati new in 1982... and have just spent more than I paid for it new buying it back... they get under your skin, the same way Alfas do, by demanding love and attention. In comparison the Japanese superbikes are faster (so what... how fast can you go?) and more reliable, but bland like a Toyota or Honda car.
If you're an experienced motorcyclist then you'll know what you want. If you're not, please don't buy a Superbike for your first bike. They are unbelievably fast, and riding a bike is very different from driving a car. Something like a 750 Monster will give you loads of fun without getting you into serious trouble too fast. And will be more fun and just as fast down most roads. You can always get a faster bike later on, but staying alive is a priority!
