continuing on from a thread i started recently about how the car has no power until 2000rpms then takes off and then arrives at a flatspot again, I think i may have found a reason why this is happening.
Thanks to the advice given ive found that both my VNT pipes are in a dire state of change, the one to the turbo is just scuffed all the way along it and the one that goes to the engine had a fair few microscopic splits in it where it connects onto the metal pipe that runs alongside the engine.
Have had to order the parts (from Italy
) so they should arrive in a week or so.
Secondly is that today i went for a spirited blast, in 1st and 2nd its pretty dead until 2000 and then punches into life then at around 3-4rpms it hits a flatspot. now this is the one that confuses me, the turbo hoses themselves have no splits but the car does puff out a fair bit of black smoke. The EGR was replaced but im thinking it may not be working properly, thats 200euro ill never see again
after those rpms it then picks up again, 4th and 5th are the same story. I know replacing the VNT pipes are going to sort out one of the problems but i dont think it will sort out my flatspot later on in the rev range, so guys should i blank the egr or UNPLUG it to see if it makes a difference?
Sorry for making this thread drag on but im hoping to solve one of the problems tomorrow as ive got time off.
