Now fully appreciating

A month or so ago I replaced my front brake pads for DS2500's. Now I was quite impressed then, but not as impressed as people were making out I should be! Anyway the problem (clearly) was my discs and/or fluid, as I had it all changed this morning (including a fresh set of DS2500's) and after some careful bedding in... WOW!!!

So much braking power, so progressive and responsive, it's bloody fantastic! Unfortunately my front tyres have now had it.. any excuse to try some Yoko A539's

Re: Now fully appreciating

I have yokohamas A539's and im not too impressed bud
I would change them to Goodyear F1's if they werent as new as they are

They tramline terribly and transmit a lot of road noise.

Yes they have good grip in wet and dry but its an uncomfortable ride.

I think there a good cheap performance tyre but not in the same leauge as the goodyears

Re: Now fully appreciating

I'm quite used to tram-lining, my old Clio was terrible for doing it. My current Yoko AVS Sport's tram-line a lot too, but I think it's just because they have quite stiff sidewalls.

Agree on the road noise though! But considering I drove around for 3 months with no rear seats or trim in the back, a little tyre noise doesn't bother me

As you are in Newbury, take a jaunt down the A34 and head for Micheldever tyres. Brilliant prices and they do a full alignment for 20 if you get your tyres done at the same time.

Will remember them for next time, but I ordered some form They came out 20 cheaper than the best local supplier for A539's
