Variator exchange uder warranty - to pay or not?
Hello everyone. I just left my car in the workshop for variator exchange because of diesel noise after startup. The car is one and half year old /2 year warranty/, with 31000km. But my dealer doesnt seem to be willing to exchange it for free. He said he would probably do it under warranty, but he must first open the engine and see the part. It is like 50:50 now. Should I pay or not? I will talk with him in the afternoon. Should I push him to make it for free? Those of you, who had this service done in UK or west Europe for example, is it normal to pay for it? I think variator is not a consumption part like oil, filters or brake pads, so it should be on dealers costs.
