They are great ain't they. My first attempt was a blood soaked on too. Now though, after a few " F's " and Jeffs at removing the cap, i can do it fairly quickly. The side light went on mine, so a trip to Halfrauds and a fiver later I had the new one in within 2 mins.
Now, the wife has a little Merc A class, And seriously, What a PITA that was, I had to litteraly take the " Plastic " side wing OFF, unbolt the headlight, slide it forward 3 inches ( that was all it would budge ) contort myself unnaturally, squirt a little claret all over the place, swear a little, and in it went ( only a damn side light too ) My neighbour thought I had settled in for the afternoon for a spot of light mechanics, he did laugh when he saw the wing on the floor and a lightbulb
