OK ok, I'm fairly sure, no, positive that you'll all have heard this one before but....
We're lookin to change our car next month and, after driving a Renault Megane Coupe for 3 years (great looking IMHO but bland to drive), I'm considering an Alfa 156.
Had a test drive of a 1.8 TS Lusso with full leather at lunchtime and, well, this is me even hours later >
I totally, totally fell in love. Amazing engine note, great handling and what seemed like decent torque to me. test drove a new Mazda 3 last week and it had none of this smile factor.
It's a March 2003 model with 13k on the clock and i reckon I could talk them into parting with it for about 11k.
One thing though... I want a car I can rely on and really can't be bothered with faffing around with niggles. I would never buy a fiat for that very reason (yes, I know the stupidity of that statement). So, I'm totally thinking with my heart rather than my head here and want it TOMORROW (
) but the comparatively high service costs compared with possibly iffy reliability and notoriously poor dealer service is really making me think twice. It's an ex demo car too ( I got the usual line about "the boss" using it as his company car and taking good care of it
) and this only compounds things. There is a year and a half of warranty left on it though which helps.
I don't know what my point is really! I'm hoping you'll know what I'm talking about. Perhaps you thought the same thing before taking the plunge or perhaps I'm being a big girl and I should just grab it (or another one similar).
Any advice much appreciated!
p.s. Is it true the rear seats don't fold down too
