Crazed Front upper wishbone bush hell

Hope someone can help...recently tried to replace my 156 1.8 TS upper wishbone bushes with uprated poly-bushes. One side went fine, but on the drivers-side the wishbone had been replaced with an aftermarket copy, meaning the bushes were too small.

I am now driving round with uprated on one side, and cheap rubbish on the other which is not inspiring confidence.

I spoke to powerflex, who can supply a sleeve if I measure the holes the bushes go into. This is great, but means I need to remove the wishbone, measure the gole, put it back together again, order the sleeves (etc).

A better option would seem to be to buy a second hand osf orignal alfa wishbone, then replace the bushes with the powerflex ones I have.

Has anyone encountered the same problem? What did you do?
Is there any way to check for an original wishbone?
Does anyone have one kicking about they would sell me?

Help gratefully received, and hope this is already useful info for someone about to try the same thing!

I wouldnt recommend replacing the bush in the upper front wishbones, the joint will only go next and it will be a full replacement, for the effort required, just replace with OEM.

The idea was that the polybushes will last longer and improve cornering, but you are probably right that the ball joints will wear out. We will see - I have obtained a second hand one now.

for the price and piece of mind just buy a new wishbone and fit the uprated bushes.
