selespeed not selecting 1st

I have now changed the above sensor but the problem still persists in that it wont select 1st when coming to a stop 1st is selectable after stopping going to neutral then selecting 1st and everything is fine the problem is intermittent in "manual" mode but almost always occurs in city mode.
when i test drove it i tried to move away and then got the following sele error on the ecuP0720

Failed Component Code: Vehicle Speed
Fault Symptom: No Signal
Warning Lamp Status: Warning Lamp Illuminated
Fault Test State: Test complete for this Error or not applicable.
Fault Code Storage State: Error Not Present at time of request
Event Count: 63 count
Environmental Condition One: Time Error Present: 37 minutes
Environmental Condition Two: Engine Speed : 3712 rpm
Environmental Condition Three: Vehicle Speed: 26.79 km/h
Environmental Condition Four: Gearbox Oil Temperature: 192 C
Environmental Condition Five: Requested Gear: First
Environmental Condition Five: Inserted Gear: First
Environmental Condition Six: Battery Voltage: 13.49 volts

the clutch pushrod has been set at 28.1 but this does flucuate a by a 2 hundreds of a mm when monitoring it

sorry for the long post just trying to find out if the 'box itself has a syncro fault or if the above error is relevant

I have replaced the clutch position sensor

The answer is in the info you just supplied!
Vehicle speed! No signal!

Vehicle speed info is gained from the ABS system, without the info it does not know when to select first gear!
I thought Smaky had already told you to look at the ABS system?

Hope this explains a little better!
