Buying Advice Appriciated

Taking my mate to see a potential new car on saturday. Could you please advise me of things to look for with this particular car.

2001 X Reg ALFA ROMEO 156 1.8 TS Veloce
32,000 miles, Alfa Red with Charcoal Leather, 1 Owner. Large rear spoiler, CD, 16" 5 hole alloys, Full manufacturer service history, One Owner. £7,495.

well if it has the spoiler what more can you ask for (I was seduced by the spoiler but dont tell anyone here, they are not in to bolt-ons i dont think )

something i have noticed with the spoiler is it lets water in to the boot lid i think.
ohh yeah and you may have a big service soon.
thats about the end of my helpfull advice

The Toyota Supra look is a personal thing so that's up to your mate.

He needs to budget for a cambelt/tensioner/variator change at 3 years or 36,000 miles which ever comes soonest. Check tyre wear is even. Check there are no clonks from the suspension. Check it has some oil in it!

remember big service coming up, means just that. you'll get no change from 500 pounds so use that as a bargaining point, and if its from a dealer get them to service it as part of the price. but make sure they change all the parts not just the cambelt.and yes listen out for suspension knocking also expensive.

Looks like a good deal, but remember the service and get the best warranty you can, even if it means purchasing one.
