Ebay ones are crap mine failed with 6months... go for the EBspares set...
It's all about budget though isn't it? I brought my 156 in Feb, lovely and shiny, genuine 59000 on the clock and a full service history (yeah right) inc cam belt at 42000, allegedly the only things wrong with it was a small knock on the suspension and one of the SRS airbag blanking plugs was missing. Oh how we laughed!!!
Since then it's had new front droplinks, NS upper wishbone, NS lower wishbone, front anti roll bar and bushes, both front tie rods, NS rear tie rod, OS track rod end and tracking, MAF sensor, spark plugs, aux belt, glass fibre and ally plate repair to the undertray 'cause it had been speed bumped so many times there was hardly anything left of the rear mounting points, wiper motor, thermostat, gear knob 'cause the old one fell to bits, front brake pads, Sony head unit and stalk interface kit so I can use the steering wheel buttons (the factory fitted head unit was bust), drivers side interior door handle, the old one fell to bits, oil and filter and a halogen sidelight bulb that cost me a tenner for two 'cause they don't sell them seperately. It still needs, a temperature sensor, variator, water pump and cam belt, a new trip computer display of a later model car, an indicator stalk, a spare key and of course the missing SRS airbag blanking plug if anyone has one they want to give or sell me. Some of us are running out of cash, especially with a baby on the way and EB Spares was just a little too expensive this time. Anyway my eBay one has a years guarantee with it. The only thing that makes me smile here is that the idiot who I brought the car from paid 3 grand for it 8 months ago and I picked it up for 1400 five months later.
