outside temperature issues

The outside temperature on the dash is constantly reading too high - checked it 5 minutes ago and it says 28.5 C (BBC weather says it's 15 at the moment where I live)

Even when I've been on the motorway for a while it gets closer to the real temperature but never actually reaches it (always 5-10 above).

I have a black 147, this is my first Alfa and I'm wondering if the temperature is always a bit too ambitious? I've also looked at the sensor under the drivers mirror and it looks intact.

Anyone else have this problem? It's more annoying than anything!

My GT had the same issue during the bad winter we just had, it fluctuated constantly and gave some pretty extreme readings. It's working fine lately though. I normally have display set to oil temp anyway.

A complete seconhand o/s mirror may solve the problem, ive never found them very accurate.Even the speedo is up to 10% adrift.
