I'm starting to get sick of my Alfa, only had it a few weeks but it's doing my head in.
Beyond a few issues that now seem to be rectified (or at least I know the cause and can avoid using particular fuel) there is one problem that has been getting more and more annoying - I keep getting a warning for low engine oil pressure when cornering, usually on longer corners but today it was doing it around almost all corners and during braking.
I took the car in at the start of the week to my local indy and they checked the car, cleared an mscf fault (fuel ign/mixture) and checked the oil levels and the car was overfilled with oil despite having thrown the warning at me on the way to the garage!
I had topped the car up a few times as the dipstick had been reading that it needed oil, using Castrol Magnatec 10w40 Semi-Synth which from research I've now done is crap oil however I just can't see why it's causing low oil pressure warning to come on so often.
Is it going to be a case of getting the sensor replaced or is this a sign that the pump is on it's way out - have read about a few Alfa engine failures caused by oil pumps, and I do know my engine was rebuilt a few months ago because of low oil taking out the bottom end... just don't know if the pump was replaced, would assume so but cant remember.
Any help would be appreciated, starting to hate my alfa and I've not had it a month!
