156 2.5 V6 - Not Starting
I have a 2000 Model Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6. It has been having various difficulties and issues as of late. I have searched this website many times to try and find a solution, but to no avail.
The car all of a sudden became extremely sluggish. It did not even have enough power to climb a steep driveway, much less an uphill, which in the past would have been no issue whatsoever. It jerks slightly whilst driving, and has become the most uncomfortable drive yet. I put my foot flat on the accelerator, but still, there is no power.
I have replaced the plugs, as well as the exhaust system with the original Alfa 156 V6 exhaust system (the previous owner had an after market exhaust system on it), and the slave cylinder has been replaced. In general, the car is well maintained.
It now has decided to not even start. The car turns, but does not fire a start. It backfires instead. I replaced the battery, thinking it may have been that, but still, she won't start.
I don't know what more to do. I love the car dearly, but it is becoming very painful to own. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do or look for in order to repair it and get it back to its original power state, or do I end up selling the car?
My 156 2.0 TS Has had none of the above problems, so this for me is all new.
Thanks in advance,
