Clutch slave cylinder replacement

Can anyone help with some advice. My wifes 156 JTS 2.0 just lost all clutch pedal movement. It stays to the floor. Having checked the reservoir it was just below minimum so there must be a leak somewhere. Our trusty local garage says the slave cylinder is in the bell housiing and a big job to get to. Steering disconnected etc etc.. Whats more he mentioned it might have a 'dual flywheel'?? which would need replacing if they remove the gearbox/engine to get to the cylinder. Is this correct? The estimated replacement for this flywheel was approx 380! Please can anyone confirm if this is necessary. Has anybody had recent similar repairs done and what cost am I likely to hit.....?

JTS will have slave inside gearbox, so that has to come out.

Don't think you a DMF though .. diesels.

Find an Alfa specialist or Fiat trained mechanic if you can ..
