Finally got the joint apart. I brought one of those scissor type ones from Machine Mart which was too narrow for the job. Ended up filing about 3mm out of the jaws to get it to slide into place, got the ratchet drive on the bolt and tighten, tighten, tighten, snap! The sodding bolt sheared. Ahah, but now I had the joint under some serious amounts of pressure 'cause the tool was clamped to the joint so I just lovingly inserted my fork type splitter over the top of the scissor type splitter and tap, tap it all fell apart. Now I have another problem. I've got it all back together after some serious swearing, an argument with the wife and a black eye from when the breaker bar slipped and caught me a good 'un. Now one of the bolts on the ally bush won't line up, I had them all in finger tight when I finally got the replacement wishbone into position but I had to take them all out again to get the ball joint into the hub so I know that I haven't damaged any threads but one bolt hole is slightly out of line... Question, is it okay to drive down to my local quick fit centre with only three 3 bolts in? I think that it needs to go up on a ramp because there's no way that I can get any purchase on the wishbone with the car on a trolly jack and a couple of axle stands. Even better. Is there anyway to line the bolt holes up? Stupid question I know but I just wondered if anyone had any 'magic' tricks.
