Well this weekend my selespeed has started playing up again, with different syptoms.
at the weekend i was driving, after letting the gear box change on its own at the red line 5mins later i lost gears and crawled to a stop on the side of the road, it was stuck in gear clutch depressed, i cant remember which but it failed on the down shift from 3rd to second and would not change into neutral or any other gear, i turned it off and disconnected the sensor on the rear of the actuator which enabled the car to be put into neutral. with the sensor re-connected i was unable to select any gear and had to get RAC out to tow me home.
once home i changed the sensors and checked the clutch rod length (it was ok) and ran the eol routine. still it would not select any gears. i left it in a huff until later that day when i activated each actuator with FES one by one. this then brought it into life, was selecting gears fine but the clutch rod length was now wrong.
after adjusting the clutch rod length the car worked perfectly for two days but now will not select 4th and has failed once to select any gear.
i have spare sensors and the old actuator with all ancilaries attached so if it is one of the many electrical components i can swap them to test but i don't know how to determine which sensor or actuator/electro valve thingy could be causing it.
pump primes ok, pressure is always between 45 and 55 bar, and the battery is not at fault, never dropping below 11.2v when operating the gears with engine off.
Sorry for the long winded post but trying to give all info
does anyone have any ideas?
