Picked up my new(ish) (12K miles) 156 JTS today. It was to replace the one I "totalled" a few weeks ago and posted about here.
New one is Lipari Grey, pretty car, all hunky-dory.
I know you can feel a BUT coming on ...
BUT ... 15 minutes after leaving the dealer and just after filling with petrol,
I get a warning beep and a message on the screen thingy. All very alarming.
ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE, it says. GO TO DEALER...What? I've just been at the dealer!
The car seems to be running fine though it feels much tighter than my previous 2.0 TS which had done 20K miles and was running like a dream.
So, anyway, I get home and look it up in the book. Picture in screen message is "glowing steadily" so apparently this means "fault in supply/ignition/injection system". Not a good start and it means a visit to a friendly dealer, I assume.
Can any of you shed any light on what this message usually means? Best regards to all.
PS Amazingly (or not, really!) the car also does not have a tax disc! But, let's face it, that's just an administrative thing. I admit it - I was too excited to check! What a shower!
