I am compiling this list of LED that can be installed, (ALFA 156 1997-2003) and be CANBUS compliant as to not generate a bulb failure warning on the dashboard (IC chip). 156 GTA is also using the same lights according to the manual (attached).
From same convenient seller:
High Beam (H1) - not sure if this is a good choice but only 1 type available
Low Beam (H7 - H7 with metal cap installed preferred - some ppl say H7R, others H7C)
IMHO HID full digital conversion kit, 6000K with high quality slim ballast. Will be illegal for many countries. Projectors+double angel eyes is the choice if you like BMW style, but lots of $ and trouble.
Front Sidelight (H6W with 150º offset socket pins): this one with 13 LED seems like a nice price! Warning* very big (as Artemis pointed out), see note at end of post:
Fog Light (H1)
IMHO HID conversion kit, 6000K but lower quality is ok.
FRONT DIRECTION INDICATOR: PY21W
Side direction Indicators and Number plate AKA license plate (T10 aka W5W aka 501):
Rear direction indicator, reversing light, rear fog guard (P21W aka 380 or 382 (?)):
Additional stop light 3.2W (dunno where to find this and what is the standard name)
Front roof light, BOOT (42mm C10W) I didn't find any on this guy. I wonder if I can use 44mm C5W (below)?
Rear Roof, courtesy, glovebox: WHITE or RED (36mm C5W 272) this one is not specified as being error free.
PS: He also sells "FLAT
" wiper blades 20"+22" that I think work on the 156.
*warning note for sidelights: the height adjustment motors should be removed so the reflector can be pushed back during installation, giving more wiggle room. Handle them when COLD and carefully (led soldering is fragile), and it is best to CUT OFF a the top of the handle of the socket that holds the sidelight. The handle bit makes the bulb+socket too long to be easily positioned. Cutting off the plastic from this original Alfa Romeo part made me a bit sad but it's not visible even with the headlights opened up
. Also I added black tape around the socket, so the bulb is held in a deeper position. Otherwise the LEDs will be outside the reflector and hidden. I'm really dumb with tinkering, if I can do it, anyone can
. I'll post pics if anyone is interested.
