Cheers people for all the replies - When I said "I have a garage" they are an engine specilist been going since 1984, I spoke to them and asked if they had done Alfa's before and he said "yes and we have all the alfa tools like the camlock etc" they specialise in Engine reconditioning, they let you come and see your engine being built and do a free collection and delivery service so I am quite confident in them.
Also another question, funds are tight VERY tight at the mo but I am going to get my car done as I love it, who wouldnt its an ALFA!!! but what do you guys think about me leaving out the variator? it does make a noise on start up if im honest but goes quiet after 2 or 3 seconds, I only do about 4-5K miles a year in my car as got a works van so would you think it would be ok to leave that out?
