Hmmm air filter replacement

looking to change my air filter soon

has anyone any ideas on the best or easiest way to change it .

also i was thinking of getting a performance filter but at reasonable cost .

are these k&n any good ?

ive heard they clog up the maf due to the oil they use , or what about the bmc systems .

any one heard of hengst cone filters from euro car parts ?

all replies appreciated thanks .

Really, do not use a filter that requires oiling - I realise that many swear by them but too much oil and you will have a dead maf on your hands.

Personally I think a lot of 'Sports' panel filters are a bit over rated, I tried a foam, washable one from AutoDelta and honestly I think the oem paper filter breathes easier.

There are several discussions on K&N filters on Porsche forums, and the conclusion is not to use it if you have a heat reaction maf (which we have in our Alfa's)
I swear by them , but reading these discussions and graphs I start to believe that a paper filter is the best option. K&N allows more air but also more fine dust...
Oh boy... There goes my trust in performance filters....
