156 air filter/housing

Having sorted the brakes on the 156 I need to turn to less important matters! As seems common from reading threads here the air filter housing is broken/cracked at the usual fixing points and looks a bit beyond sticking together/re-drilling and fitting screws etc.
Would you advise looking around for replacement Alfa bits or is it worth looking at an after market kit? I'm not interested in "sound" / minimal performance gains claimed. Thanks in advance.

I'll have a look at the one I'm breaking at the moment to see if the air box is any use... It's a common fault though.

I put a K&N on mine, simply because it was cheaper than a new airbox from Alfa.
