Re: help needed!!

Hi Simon,
welcome to our world!
If they are replacing ALL the right bits £525 isn't far off!

The required bits are:
balance-shaft belt
cambelt tensioner
balance-shaft belt tensioner (usually)
and possibly (advisably) the variator too

That is about £250 worth of parts.

If the quote doesn't include all the above parts then they are over the top.

Sorry can't help with a specialist in your area though.
I use BLS in Lincoln (and I live in London!!).

Idea Re: help needed!!

The Workshop, Royston, Hertfordshire. Say Robin sent you and it'll be all good.

Got everything timing related done on my 147SS recently for a very good price.

Thumbs Up Re: help needed!!

thanks guys,im just adjusting to the parts and sevice costs(i suppose you cant have so much fun driving without a cost to balance it out.
£525 for cambelt change- £525 from desira ipswich
£165 to fix air con (local air medic )
clutch heavy - quoted £500 from desira ipswich

all this and i have only done 300 miles!!!!!
