clutch advise please - 1.6

Hi guys / gals,

my beloved 2002 1.6 147 has now covered 83k, and i get the feeling she has been after a new clutch for a while now.

see if you agree-

1. Judders when hot - more & more
2. Had the noise (thrust / release) when releasing especially reverse for a good while
3. Bite point been getting higher & higher.

So i wanted to ask if there is anything else I should be looking at / checking / replacing?

I am going to have the gear lever bush things replaced - I have lost all my springiness, and also the lever is almost impossible to move out of 5th and 4th on occasions.

Am I barking up the correct trees?

Thanks all

When the fingers are worn on the pressure plate the centre plate can engage unevenly cauing judder.Generally speaking its the combination of wear on all parts leading to a poor clutch.Be mindfull that some cheap pattern release bearings are so poor that they may not last a year so although the release bearing/slave cylinder is not cheap, the labour is expensive so dont skimp or you could be doing it again sooner than you want.

thanks, which clutch kit should i buy? I will get genuine, or are there any others that folks recommend?

Also, should the problem i describe with the gear lever be resolved with the new bushes?
