At last - I collected my Alfa today. 156 16v JTD Brunello Red with black leather interior; apart from that she's standard (for now). Have driven about 100 miles from the garage and MPG recorded 56.6!
With all that torque there is no problem keeping ahead of the crowd despite "running in". Being old enough to remember the (good) old days when you had to treat a new car with kid gloves until it was run in, I always treat a new car gently; although a Peugeot dealer once told me to "thrash a diesel from day one", I did and it broke! What are your views on "running in"?
Anyway being an Alfa the manual fell apart when I opened it!! Nice to know some things never change; if that's all that fails I'll be happy.
It's dark outside so I had to stop playing with my new toy and post instead!
