Mmm who to believe?? UNDER PRESSURE??
Recently purchased a 2005 GT 2.0 JTS
I decided to do some back ground checks on her, so called the places she had had main services done. I spoke to the previous specialist that changed the cambelt to make sure I still had substantial time for next change. That was fine ...what got to me was he said apparently the previous owner complained the engine was suffering from low oil pressure(light kept coming on) ...this apparently didnt show up on diagnostics, but did with "manual check", he advised this could be one of many BIG ISSUES.
That was the last he saw the customer, and since the car had been sold on and done an extra 20 000 miles.... it was traded in to an Alfa Romeo Dealership by the previous owner from where I purchased it.
Now here's the catch...the car drives fine??? I have done 700 miles in her through heavy traffic and freeways, and it hasn't skipped a beat.(There seems to be slight leak of coolant which Ill have my dealership check next week, this could be due to fact radiator and hoses were replaced last september and summins not tight enough ((I found out this morning when checking with dealership))
I told the specialist I had purchased it from dealership and he pressumes the oil pressure issue must have since been taken care of by someone. Fare enough...but how do I check this at home for sure ... ??? Any ideas's???
