"The car goes to idle on its own"
Please explain this phrase. Should it be "goes to neutral"?
edit: ok I guess it means "idle gear". Understood.
Isn't it normal for it to go neutral when stopped at a red light for 60 seconds?
edit, from link provided by findus: "Still for safety reasons, with the car stationary , engine running and gear (1)-(2) or (R) engaged, the system activates the buzzer and automatically puts the gear to idling when:
• no operation is made on the accelerator pedal or the brake pedal for at least 60 s.
• the brake pedal is kept pressed for more than 3 min .
• the door on the driver's side is opened, after 2 seconds the car goes automatically into idling condition. "
Nice website. Thank a lot. They say to never leave the car parked in "N". Why not? They describe in detail how to yank the overheating clutch in a slope but god forbid you park the car in "N"!
