With you there mate, I've never been caught speeding, but I've been in your situation many a time, having to boot it to get someone out of trouble. I consider it good road awareness and one should be congratulated for that, not fined. Those that should be fined are drivers that sit in the middle lane on motorways, do my head right in.
exactly as it was with me, maybe not congratulated, but taken into account when bringing up a prosecution for speeding, after all, the prosecuting camera shot should/could show the position of other cars around when the offence took place. i wont comment on the motorway middle laners as i rarely come across them, sat in the outside lane at 129mph. (joke ffs)

then why buy a car capable of 80mph+ ? no where on british soil can you do that speed, so if you actually stand by this statement, sell it and buy a 1.2 3cyl vauxhall corsa..
If you speed and get caught as V6 Hughes says "take it like a man", I admit that in NSL areas I speed, not stupidly excessive but still over the limit, if I get caught it will be a fair cop.
same as me, i am, i have (and no doubt will again in future) taken it like a man, as thats why i have 6 points under ms90 currently instead of the 3 for the offence of sp30 that i actually committed, but that doesnt mean i have to like it.
yes i see the governments point of view where speed kills, but why doesn't the government see the point that in some
case's speed can avoid accidents? i wonder how many accidents occur/speed tickets are earnt on motorways/dualies where in a medium flow of traffic there simpy isnt room for cars to join so they have to park it waiting for a suitable gap to filter in.....? and a parked car at the end of a slip/joining road into what potentially could be a 70mph zone can and will cause all sorts of dnagers/harards... imagine driving down the inside lane of the M1 or A1 only to find a car parked stationery in front of you....? is that safer or more dangerous than the guy who went 15mph over the speed limit to let someone have room to join?
