GT clutch

I plan to buy a diesel to save some money and thought a GT would be nice to offset the cost of running the GTV Cup. I went to try one yesterday that had a recent new clutch, but the pedal had a lot of free travel at the top and a biting point about 20 mm off the floor. I assume this isn't right? Could it have been fitted wrongly, or is this how they are?

Alfa Romeo GT Q2

A low biting point on a new clutch is a good thing no?

Mine has a brand new clutch and feels pretty normal to me and doesn't sound far off your description.
