My 156 won't idle :-(
I wanted to consult the forum before trying to get to a garage so here's hoping one of you fella's can help! I have a year 2000 156 2.0 TS with just under 100k on the clock.
Filled up with petrol yesterday with the usual stuff and when started the car it fired up ok, but immediately the revs dropped down to nothing and it stalled. I tried again and the same thing happened. I then started the car and pressed the accelerator at the same time and found that the engine would run fine until I released the accelerator pedal and it would cut out again.
The car runs fine once it get's going and is in gear or being drivin but cuts out as soon as it is stationary - cue a different driving style to get the car home with lots of peed off people behind me as I stalled at every junction!
The only thing I can think is that I was nearly pulled out on 5 minutes before the problem began and I said to my mate that it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if she was written off by someone these days, and I guess she has heard it!?
If anyone can help I'd be very grateful!
