Advice on used 147 - too good to be true?!
Hello Alfa Owners,
I'm new here so not sure if this is the right area, but I'm just after some advice. I'm currently looking to buy my first Alfa and set on a 147 2.0 Selespeed (I know the S/S are potentially fatally flawed "marmite" cars, but I'm used to driving automatics and want to stick with at least semi-auto transmission). I'm based in Bristol and would prefer to buy from a reliable source - St George in Yate look good, but don't currently have any Sele's.
I've seen an ad for a 2003 147 2.0 Lusso with 57k on the clock, for only £1,395 over in Wales
So, just wondering, is this price too good to be true? Most of the others I've seen of that age, with that mileage are around the £3,000 mark. Is this too low a price for a decent one, and likely to be dodgy? Is it always advisable to have FSH? I gather several major parts will need to be replaced around 60k miles, so will I just end up losing money in the long run?
Any general tips to bear in mind when looking for a 147 Sele are much appreciated, thanks in advance for your advice!
