I have a dealer about 3/4 mile from my house, but I go to see Jamie and his staff instead. I have been for about 6 years now, as have my 2 Brothers who drive up from London. I never feel like I'm being fleeced, Sportwagon has just hit 106K and I put that down to me getting it serviced/MoT'd and Jamie and his crew doing good work. Jamie also writes regular articles in the club magazine, which I think shows he gives a damn.
My feeling is I'd rather give the car to someone who likes the cars, I have had to go to my local dealer a couple of times and I've always felt like they should've been paying me as I had to tell them what to do.
Now that Autolusso have moved a short distance, I'm slap bang in the middle of them, Alfa workshop and David Thomas, Codicote. Used them all and they've all been great, but it's easier for me to get to work by train from Jamie's.
I also always make a point of thanking the guys in overalls under the car.
Now if any of them were just to do a suspension upgrade open day...
