inner cv joint variations

another hopefully not dumb question.
Have just purchased inner cv joint for my 2.4 JTD 2002 model and after taking apart the old one have found it is a 3 point bearing one- tripoid?. the one supplied by the factors is what I would term as a standard cv ballrace style. are the two interchangeable or is it back to the suppliers again?
thanks team

IIRC the gearbox on the later 20v cars (which yours could be. as a 2002 car) is a different box from the earlier cars...from a Peugeot I think......which would make sense as the tri-lobe joints are common on French motors.....

Or I could be completely wrong
