156 V6 Heater Problem - too much hot air!
My wife's 156 has suddenly decided that winter will never be over! Even with the temperature control dial turn to minimum and the air conditioning light on it continues to blow hot air. She has resorted to driving with the fan on "0" but, of course, the interior gets very stuffy with no air circulation and warm air still leaks through the vents.
I guess that either a water valve or an air flap is stuck, does anyone know how I can find out? I've looked at the diagrams in "eLearn" but they're not very detailed.
The next question is, how difficult is it to get to the heater behind the dashboard?
It would be nice to sort this before summer starts in earnest!
I recall that years ago on my Alfa 90 I had to clamp off the rubber water feed pipe to the heater with a old Mole wrench during the summer as the valve refused to shut off completely but of course that didn't have air con.
