If the plastic has broken on the handle end (depending how bad) remove the handle assembly
1 screw and a metal rod under the leather and take the handle out. (don’t let the spring esacpe) then drill a hole through the back of the handle just behind were the cable stud sits you will need a 5mm HSS drill bit and a 4.5 mm black zip tie.
There will be some slack in the cable as the seat should be forward (use some long nose pliers to pull on the cable if not).
Push the zip tie through the hole, sit the stud back in its location and do the zip tie up to hold the stud in place. Reassemble the handle.
Boom... 10 mins, 10p and no need to remove the entire seat. You can’t see the top of the zip tie unless you really look, just don’t leave a sharp bit when you cut the excess tie away.
Oh and to stop it breaking in the first place avoid collecting ****ed girlfriends and colleagues up from their work xmas party’s
