Help ABS Failure

Hi guys,

I recently changed my rear brake pads, bled them (not a full bleed but just enough to clear the air out the pistons) and then readjusted the handbrake. Since doing this I've developed an intermittent warning. It complains with a sequence of three errors:-

* EDB system failure
* ABS system failure
* VDC sytem failure

I'm resigned to the fact that it'll have to go into the garage to sort it out , but just wanted to get the opinions of the folks in the forum first.

Anybody got any theories???

Re: ABS Failure

Sounds like you dislodged or damaged a sensor - check they are all pluged in and wires have not been pulled out of damaged.

Re: ABS Failure

Thanks for the advice. I'll check the sensors, but I don't think it's sensor related, unless one of the sensors is damaged but still working most of the time.

The problem I'm getting is really intermittent. Sometimes I get the warnings, sometimes I don't. I can go for a long journey (40 miles+) without the warning, and then next time I'll get it when I pop to the shops. It also resets every time I restart the engine.

Re: ABS Failure

It's just a thought but that intermittent error might still be in memory. You might have to clear the errors on your local Alfa garage.
