Thanks jomour I get top is +ve bottom -ve, But wanted to clarify the left/right. your pic with B1 on the left (7/8 on right) is that as you look at the back of the HU, or as you look at the plug with the wires (i.e.the other way round).
Well much study of the workshop CD discovered that the rear wiring is the same over LHd and RHD and euro 3, but the fronts switch the wiring colours around completely from LH to RH, change some colours for euro3, and the wiring diag swops the side the speakers are shown on as you look at it, and there is even a difference within Euro 3 - My RHD euro 3 car, has the RHd PRE Euro 3 main speaker wiring and 2 pin connectors up front, but does have the euro 3 tweeter wiring and connectors! nice mix, very helpful, must of been made right on the cusp of the change, use up old parts!
Anyway also got most of the wire colours matching with my actual loom (bar one, must of ran out), but looking at the speaker connector blocks, the way they are pictured on the disc, the 1 and 2 are reversed to the actual 1 and 2 moulded into them! And the 1's are supposed to be +, 2's -ve.
from the wiring diag the 1 and 2 wires in mine match the picture of the connector (not the moulded number) for the rears, but the front match the moulded number not the picture!
So be warned if using the workshop CD wiring diags to match to your car, and not the connector 1 / 2 locations may be reversed from the picture of them on the CD!
yes all very confusing, so i am off to buy a 9volt battery, mark each speaker + termininal and basically rewire my stereo!
AR wiring loom manufacturer seems to have an any old wire any old side philosophy!
