Hi to all, I've try and keep it brief. I've had the car (2.0TS 156 1998)for about 4yrs. It's been really good then in about April of last yr (after a couple of false starts where I was able to pump the pedal and recover the use of the clutch completly)it failed with no resistance/pressure at the pedal at all. The slave Cyln is the concentric type trapped within the bellhousing so it stood for about a month while I decided whether to keep her(over £500 clutch kit replacement locally.)Chap came round and established it wasn't the master cyln and in doing so recovered the clutch after bleeding them. It stood again for a while b4 I decided I'd spend the money and get her fixed. Driving around locally the prob didn't re appear so I held off and thats how it stayed all thro the summer up until late Nov when after a long journey(75miles)this is the only pattern, it failed again. Not wanting it to run out of MOT which was coming up I bleed the clutch system myself and it held until till 2wks ago. I bleed the system again but didn't get the recovery as b4 it would come back and loss press. again after only a few minutes so I left for about a wk. On returning to the car after a few pumps of the pedal the clutch was operational,I didn't drive it anywhere but went back to the car the next 3days and the same occured. I then took 5miles down the road and to date its the same-a few pumps and it's back.Just to concur theres no grunchin or grinding no fluid loss and when it's operational the bite is at the top.I've checked the M/cyln again and either slow pressing or pushing really hard on the clutch pedal the M/cyln holds(with the mole grips attached to the flexi pipe going to the bleed nipple. Any conclusive help would be very grateful as this very nice car is metathorically at the breakers gates!!
