Hello and welcome to AO
It sounds like your power modulation flange is playing up.
Its a common problem, fixed by a simple ECU hard reset.
Open the boot and drivers door, hold your foot on the clutch and brake, lock/unlock the car 5 times from the keyfob, then put the key in the ignition and turn it one click. Wait 15 seconds then turn it one more click, wait another 15 seconds then let go of the brake but not the clutch. Start the car and let it run for 3 minutes then turn it off and pop the bonnet. Get out, close the boot and doors and open the bonnet. Lock it from the keyfob then disconnect the negative terminal from the battery for 30 seconds. Close the bonnet, unlock the car from the fob, get in and start it up as normal then go for a drive. Keep the revs below 2500 rpm for 10 miles, and hey presto it will reset and your issue will be sorted
A dealer will charge you £360 to do that.
