How to remove Sony CDX-C5000R

Stereo came with the car when I bought it 2nd hand, assuming its not the one fitted as standard (y reg 156), can't see any holes/slots where removal tools would go, so tempted to start unscrewing it from wherever possible - realise thats prob not the best idea

any advice would be appreciated! want to put my Pioneer CD/MP3 player in there

I think you take the front panel off then you the supplied spoon type things which fit into slots on either side and release the catches allowing the unit to slide out forwards.

That's strange... I just fitted a Sony CDX-R6750 in my 156... Rockhopper's right. Front panel off, unclip the plastic surround and slide the Sony release keys into the slots that are situated underneath the plastic surround at either end.

My sony unit needs the keys going down the left and right side, either way it wont be a hard job.
