These were not by the spare tyre...as I said above, they were both located behind the little doors in the felt behind the rear light clusters one on each side. I rooted around as one was showing, the other I had to find.
"Looking fine" does not necessarliy mean the contacts haven't dried...mine both looked fine but the act of opening them, spraying them with CC, putting them back together must have done the trick.
Suggest you do what I did as those connectors are for the curtain airbags and they are easy to find/fix.
I don't know how to get to the passenger pillar one but it will most certainly involve undoing the trim at the base of the pillar and maybe the side panel too, so why not try what I did first?
If you do a search on "curtain airbag" ( like I suggested) you will find a thread that has a paperclip symbol ( meaning there is an attachment!). In this thread is a diagram showing an exploded view of the car and where the curtain airbags and connectors are located, which may help you, although it does not tell you how to get them!
I'm a bit reluctant to be working too close to airbags, ignition switched off or not.
Hope this helps, I'm back off to the 159 Lounge, it's a bit less hectic!
