ECU not recording fault

Hi all,

As advised on here, I brought my GT in to my alfa garage for a fault code read this morning as I had been getting the MSCF light sometimes on startup. (MSCF sometimes comes up on dash and disappears after about 5-10 seconds after starting the engine)

However the mechanic is a bit puzzled, as the ECU has not recorded a fault. He has checked the battery and fuses for condition and noted no issues.

Has anybody else experienced this? Any ideas what could be causing this?

I'm not that familiar with the inner workings of Alfa ECU's but don't some types clear the fault after a certain number of engine starts without the fault happening again?

A bad earthing comes to mind, Make an additional earth lead and see what happens, I have an extra earth lead (battery - to a clean part of the body)
Selespeed = challenge
