Not Happy 'Crashy' rear suspension on GT

Not sure if it's the awful roads that have tuned me in to the problem, but I swear the rear suspension on my GT is sounding rather crashy & boomy, if that makes sense.

It seems sudden, though - almost as if someone's replaced the suspension components with a solid rear axle overnight! It seems to skip over bumps with a loud thud, and generally unsettled. I have the 18 inch wheels, for reference.

Could my shocks or something similar have expired overnight???? Or have I just tuned in to a noise that I hadn't noticed before?

The effects of ambient temperature on tyre pressures? Will also affect gas dampers, but I wouldn't expect a big effect there. Bushings can perish and crack.

But possibly the last point you made makes sense!
